2025 marks a huge milestone for P&A Group as we celebrate 50 years in business! In honor of this momentous occasion, we’re looking back on significant events over the past five decades and highlighting meaningful achievements from past to present.
Joseph Priselac, Jr., CEO, founded P&A Group in 1975, and was joined three years later by partner and President, Michael Rizzo. Since then, Michael and Joe have steered the company to success, navigating industry challenges over the years with skill, tenacity, and adaptability. They’ve bolstered company growth and expansion, cementing P&A’s place as a top-tier provider of employee benefits within the employee benefits industry. What, perhaps, is most remarkable, is that throughout their decades-long careers, Michael and Joe continue to lead the company with empathy, optimism and creativity – and one element that is sometimes lost in business: friendship. These core qualities are evident not only in all P&A has achieved as a company, but in the relationships our employees have built and nourished with our clients, vendors and each other.

Y2K ushered in a time of significant technological investment and development that helped catapult P&A’s growth. In 2001, P&A created a proprietary administration system that allowed us to provide customization for clients. Today, P&A continues to use private, custom-built technology, helping us support the unique needs of our customers by providing creative and flexible solutions.

As P&A continues to expand across the U.S., we have the exciting challenge of providing services for clients from many different industries, sizes and scopes. During this time, we also explore niche markets where we are a trusted resource for clients and brokers, proving especially beneficial in nuanced situations like union negotiations. As our client base increases in size, so does our workforce. Today, we have approximately 225 employees – and we’re still growing!
P&A adds new products and services to our offerings, including a Health Savings Account (HSA) and Lifestyle Reimbursement Account benefit option. A special HSA mobile app is brought to market for P&A HSA participants, and P&A’s proprietary MyBenefits mobile app is re-designed with a new look and feel.
Always looking to enhance our services, P&A undergoes a re-branding transformation, complete with a new public site that is re-designed to boost the consumer experience and provide meaningful, relevant content to visitors. Additionally, P&A creates a new COBRA Open Enrollment portal for new continuants, and revamps HR Connect, P&A’s exclusive employer/broker portal.
As we reflect on 50 years in business and look to the future, we are grateful for the deep relationships we’ve cultivated. One of the key factors that differentiate us from other TPAs is our people – P&A’s employees who care for our clients and their employees, who work together to create an efficient, effective ecosystem rooted in the idea of service to others.
Recently, a new manager shared feedback on one thing that’s especially stood out to her since starting at P&A: the average tenure of our employees. Many of our employees have been with the company for a significant amount of time, and it’s not uncommon to see 10, 15 or even 20+ year work anniversaries on the company calendar. It’s a testament to our leadership and founders – and, perhaps, a nod to an important part of a fulfilling life: friendship.
