P&A Group first began supporting the Hilary Grace Foundation (HGF), a non-profit organization based in Buffalo, NY, last year.  The foundation is especially meaningful to our organization because of its goal of helping people successfully battle opioid addiction, a disease that affects 15 million people worldwide ever year.  Today, drug overdoses are a leading cause of death in U.S. adults under the age of 50.

Hilary Grace

The Hilary Grace Foundation was established in honor of Hilary Grace White, whose life was tragically cut short by opioid addiction in August 2017. Since then, the Foundation has worked tirelessly in raising awareness about this growing disease. The foundation also advocates better treatment options for people struggling with opioid addiction.

Hilary Grace, a loving friend to many and a graduate student in the Mental Health Counseling program at Canisius College, was a vibrant young woman with career goals and aspirations.  Her struggle with addiction first began when she was prescribed medication for anxiety in college; from there, she spiraled downward.  Hilary’s family is dedicated to helping others who suffer from addiction.

P&A Group Supports the HGF

In 2018, P&A Group helped sponsor Run 716, whose proceeds partially went to the foundation.  This year, P&A Group is donating $10,000 to the Hilary Grace Foundation as it works towards establishing Hilary’s House. The HGF’s goal is to create Hilary’s House, where people who are battling addiction can experience a positive recovery as they travel the road to sobriety.

Michael Rizzo, P&A Group’s President, is a board member of HGF, as well as a personal friend of the White family.  He has experienced the devastation inflicted by the opioid epidemic and is committed to helping increase awareness about this disease, along with Joe Priselac, P&A Group’s CEO.
