Quality Control Analyst

P&A Group seeks an analytical and innovative Quality Control Analyst who is a self-starter and comfortable multi-tasking in a high paced environment. The Quality Control Analyst’s role is to develop and establish quality assurance standards and measures for the information technology services within the organization. This individual will also gather and analyze data in support of business cases, proposed projects, and systems requirements. This will include writing test plans for tracking defects and fixes in product development, software application development and information systems. The Quality Control Analyst will apply proven analytical and problem-solving skills to help validate IT processes through careful testing in order to maximize the benefit of business investments in IT initiatives.

The Quality Control Analyst may be asked to assist IT Management with other IT projects not related to normal quality control duties.

Responsibilities

  • Lead point person for heading up all quality control procedures within the company, including software development, department processes, techniques and output
  • Prepare and execute test plans involving software development
  • Defining, executing and documenting a company wide quality control plans including software development, department process, procedure and outputs
  • Responsible for end-to-end ownership of assigned initiatives – requirements through implementation

  • Work with P&A Group staff and customers to develop processes, procedures and software to support company initiatives 

Requirements

  • Bachelors of Science degree
  • 5-10 years of experience working in an IT environment
  • 5 years direct experience in overseeing the design, development, and implementation of quality assurance standards for software testing
  • 5 years direct experience as a tester for major application integration and/or major application product release
  • Direct hands-on experience with ad hoc query programs, automated testing tools, and reporting software
  • Must have the ability to write and execute application test plans
  • Essential to be able to refine existing QA processes and procedures and implement best practices in the QA function
  • Must be able to perform data mapping, including the creation of file specifications; source to target mapping 
  • Strong knowledge of system testing best practices and methodologies
  • Proven data analysis, data verification, and problem-solving abilities
  • Experience with statistical reporting and analysis
  • Good project management skills and/or substantial exposure to project-based work structures
  • Basic programming knowledge SQL, HTML/CSS
  • Excellent understanding of the organization’s goals and objectives
  • Knowledge of applicable data privacy practices and laws, SOC 2 a plus
  • Requires excellent analytical, research, documentation, and project planning and implementation skills
  • Proficient in preparing the test strategy workbooks, test plans, test scenarios and test cases by analyzing business requirements
  • Knowledge of Flexible Spending Accounts, Health Savings Accounts, Health Reimbursement Arrangements, Commuter, COBRA, and other employee benefit plans a plus
