Job Brief

We are looking for a Director of Human Resources to oversee the alignment of business goals to human capital initiatives.

An ideal candidate will have a variety of HR experience including employee relations, recruiting, performance management, training, organizational development and data analysis. 

As the Director of Human Resources, you will work directly with the principals of our organization and with managers to identify improvements and suggest budget conscious solutions that enable our company culture.  You will be considered the trusted advisor in all aspects of human resource management and organizational development

Responsibilities

  • Drive the vision and success of P&A’s human capital to include attraction and development of talent, coaching and developing managers, organizational structure, legal compliance, and employee relations
  • Assess and anticipate human resources-related needs
  • Write criteria for promotions, transfers, and new hires in collaboration with department management
  • Identify training needs and create or procure professional development curriculum
  • Monitor training programs to ensure that training objectives are met
  • Provide input on workforce planning as well as planned business unit restructuring
  • Manage organizational recruitment efforts
  • Develop compensation and benefits strategy
  • Develop and nurture partnerships through human resources to enhance the relationship between management and employees
  • Work with management team to develop/maintain job descriptions that are aligned with business objectives
  • Maintain awareness of the culture, plans, financial position, and competition of the business units under the HR purview
  • Conduct meetings to check in with each business unit
  • Consult regularly with management and provide guidance when appropriate
  • Collaborate with colleagues in the human resources department to develop policies, programs, and solutions
  • Analyze data trends and metrics to inform business decisions
  • Mediate and resolve employee relations issues; conduct thorough and objective investigations when necessary
  • Analyze data trends and metrics to make informed business decisions
  • Ensure regulatory compliance with legal requirements pertinent to the day-to-day management of employees; collaborate with the legal department when necessary
  • Interpret human resources policy to company management

Requirements

  • Proven work experience at the director level or similar role
  • Excellent people management and leadership skills
  • Analytical and goal oriented
  • Demonstrable experience with HR metrics
  • Thorough knowledge of labor legislation
  • Full understanding of all HR functions and best practices
  • BS degree in Human Resources or related field preferred
  • Minimum 7-10 years of Human Resource experience
